Yeah, you read it right; we’re talking about a massive $1,375,000 settlement against an Acai scam. Who would have thought that deceptive online sales practices can even lead to such an outcome? But, with the on-going fraudulent means being adopted by the online marketers, Attorney General Terry Goddard had no other option but to announce a record $1,375,000 settlement with Central Coast Nutraceuticals, Inc for selling Acai and other high cost products in deceptive ways.
Graham Gibson, owner of CCN, Phoenix is equally responsible for this settlement, which was an outcome of a consumer fraud lawsuit. It is high time for those who play around with consumer rights, especially by deceiving them with fraudulent online marketing strategies and they must be penalized to an extent. Attorney General Terry Goddard proudly declared that he’s trying his level best to ensure that companies make positive use of the web for enhancing the consumers’ buying experiences, rather than misleading them in order to improve the company’s profit margin by means of unscrupulous ways to sell Acai supplements.
As a result of this settlement announcement, there has already been a massive pool of customers who were just ordering Acai free trail samples and later filed complaints against CCN. And, those who feel they have been victimized by CCN’s deceptive marketing can still file complaints at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, latest by August 17, 2009.
