Doctor Says Salvia Not So Bad
As a medical doctor I am surprised and dismayed by the political and media reaction towards Salvia Divinorum. I use – and have, for a long time, used – Salvia Divinorum socially and to explore my spiritual side. Even though it is totally legal for me to buy Salvia either online or in a high street shop, I feel that this simple is enough to mark my card and, rather upsettingly, make me appear a social outcast in the eyes of many people.
This negative attitude towards Sally D and those that buy Salvia has come about only recently and is a direct result of the strange bandwagon-jumping attitude adopted by politicians and media moguls everywhere. There is no doubt that those of us that buy Salvia are easy targets and we will not be getting a great deal of sympathy from any part of society.
But why is this the case? Salvia is not dangerous or harmful. If it were dangerous or harmful then it would be illegal to buy Salvia. It is not illegal to buy Salvia and it is not illegal to use it for recreational use. Of course the politicians are not adverse to a bit of bandwagon jumping themselves and no doubt my right to buy Salvia will be taken away from me soon.
