Sarah Palin

The name Sarah Palin has become one everyone is familiar with over the past month or so since the Governor of Alaska was thrust into the limelight Republican John McCain’s running mate. Pro-life Sarah Palin has quickly become a national heroine for hockey moms. Now would seem a good time to look at the background of this remarkable woman.

Sarah Palin was born in 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho to Charles and Sarah Heath. Soon after her birth Sarah’s parents left Idaho and moved to Alaska. Sarah was the third of four children.

Achieving great things has seemingly always been easy for Sarah Palin, and she excelled in many sports whilst at Wasilla High School. She was the captain of the school’s basketball team. She also won the Miss Wasilla Pageant; the Miss Alaska pageant was the next target and she managed a credible third, winning a college scholarship for her efforts.

Sarah Palin attended a few colleges and Universities, eventually earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho. Her early career was as varied as her study and she started off as a sportscaster for KTUU-TV and KTVA-TV in Alaska.

Sarah manages to balance being the Governor of Alaska with the raising of no less than five children.
